Who runs this site
jfoauto.com is run by Jack Nash, a car photographer in North Wales working as JFO_AUTO. For anything about this policy or your data, message @jfoauto on Instagram.
Cookies
This site doesn’t use cookies, and doesn’t store anything else on your device.
What is collected
Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel. Each time you load a page, Vercel’s servers receive your IP address, details of your browser and the page you asked for. Vercel keeps logs of these requests for a short time to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Visitor statistics. Vercel Web Analytics records which pages are viewed, the site you came from, your country, and your browser, operating system and device type. To count visitors without cookies, it creates a code from your IP address and browser details that is replaced every 24 hours, so you can’t be followed from one day to the next or across other sites. Your IP address itself isn’t stored, and I only see totals, not individual visitors.
Page speed. Vercel Speed Insights records how quickly each page loads and responds, along with your country, browser, operating system, device type and connection speed. It doesn’t identify visitors.
That’s everything. There are no contact forms, accounts or adverts, nothing is sold, and nothing is loaded from other companies (the fonts are served from this site, not from Google).
Why it’s used
UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for using personal information. The basis here is legitimate interests: keeping the site running and secure, and seeing which shoots and pages people look at.
Who else handles it
Vercel Inc. hosts the site and provides the statistics, acting on my instructions under a data processing agreement. Vercel is based in the United States, so information may be processed there, using safeguards approved under UK law. You can read Vercel’s privacy policy.
The number plates and @ handles on this site link to Instagram. This site doesn’t embed Instagram or load anything from it. Once you follow a link, you’re on Instagram and Meta’s privacy policy applies.
Photos and number plates
The photos show cars and their registration numbers, but no people. If your car is in a photo and you’d like it taken down or the plate blurred, message @jfoauto.
How long it’s kept
Vercel deletes hosting logs after a short time. Visitor statistics and page speed data are kept for as long as this site uses those services, and contain nothing that identifies you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of any information held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You can also object to it being used. Because the statistics don’t identify visitors, there’s usually nothing that can be linked to you, but message @jfoauto and I’ll help where I can.
A content blocker will stop the statistics being collected. The site works the same without them.
If you’re unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change too.
